Web Developer

New Territory is currently seeking a full-time Web Developer to join our on-site team in Auckland, New Zealand. The Web Developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of web applications. The candidate will be required to be up to date with modern web development practices and compliances, as well as possess excellent programming skills. The candidate will also be required to work closely with our other developers, designers and marketing teams to ensure our projects are completed to a high standard and on time.

We are based in Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand. This position must be completed on site, with some occasional work from home options.

Mastery of the basic programming languages and web design skills such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery

Experience in web development frameworks such as React, Angular, and VueJS

Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment with proactive communication

Familiarity with BEM development methodologies

Experience with version control software (Github)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a equivalent certificate in related field

Experience with PHP is a plus

Take ownership of building to the designed specification of our sites and meet our internal standards.

Assist with Growth activities and the implementation of digital marketing best practices, providing expertise to help steer our client Growth programmes.

Be familiar and comfortable with VS Code, Figma and Github, using them effectively.

Proffecient with Shopify, Sanity or Kirby based CMS's or translatable systems.

Preferred: Possess a degree in Computer Science or certificate in web development. However, it is not essential for the role.

Have 3 years of experience in web development, with at least 1-2 years focused on one of the platforms we use.

Salary will be determined by skill and experience level, we are looking across all levels of experience currently.

Permanent and Contract roles will be considered.
